Developing school effectiveness to improve outcomes for vulnerable children

The Educational Psychology Service is part of the Special Educational Needs (SEN) & Disabilities Team in the Children and Young People’s Service.

We work with children, parents, early years, alternate provision and health & care agencies to help children and young people to improve their learning and to achieve the best they can in life and promote the inclusion of all children and young people in the life of their school and in the local community.

Educational Psychologists (EPs) use their skills and expertise in applying psychology to help parents and schools to improve learning and inclusion outcomes for children and young people as guided by the SEN Code of Practice. Much of this work is statutory and preventative.
